On November 14, 2022, the first GND forum with a focus on buildings took place. The virtual conference was organised by the Deutsches Dokumentationszentrum für Kunstgeschichte - Bildarchiv Foto Marburg (DDK), the German National Library (DNB), the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe, the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library and the Vereinigung der Denkmalfachämter in den Ländern (VDL). The following questions were discussed: How are authority data created? How can they be used? How are they already used? What purposes and functions do they fulfil in the network of data on buildings?
The participants of the GND forum agreed: authority data are a central key to interoperability in the data space on buildings. For the participants' expectations and suggestions on how authority data can be used to improve the quality of their data, visit the detailed documentation in the GND blog.
